I started out working in charities as a youth worker, advice service manager, and mental health support worker. I then spent 20 years managing programmes for large grant-making foundations such as BBC Children in Need and Lloyds Bank Foundation. This is where I honed my skills in evaluating charities and working out how best to allocate resources for impact.
For the past ten years I have practiced as an independent Philanthropy Advisor. I love working with philanthropic individuals and families to help them create and implement their giving plans. Alongside my practice, I write, speak and teach. I am a lecturer on Masters programmes at the University of Kent and Bayes Business School. I am a firm believer that anyone can be a philanthropist and co-founded a giving circle, Bath Women’s Fund, where everyday givers pool their resources to amplify the difference they can make.
I offer bespoke training for financial planners so do get in touch if you would like to know more about philanthropy advice.
