I am a Chartered Financial Planner and Director at Mazars, who were recently named one of the top 5 firms in the UK for Financial Planning by FT Adviser http://rankings.ft.com/ftadviser/rankings/

I am responsible for leading the Financial Planning with our Entrepreneurial Business clients based in Yorkshire and have also recently been appointed Head of Family Business for Mazars UK. My role very much involves working with clients to understand where they are now and where they want to be in the future; not just from a personal perspective but also with regards to their business and long term legacy. I feel privileged to be in such a trusted position and I continue to adapt and refine the Financial Planning process so we never lose sight of the fact that our clients should always sit at the heart of what we do.

Having been awarded Chartered Financial Planner of the Year by the PFS in 2018, I joined the PFS Financial Planning Panel to increase engagement within the profession by ensuring that the Financial Planning community comes together to share their experiences, challenges and opportunities. Ultimately, we are stewards of this profession and we have a responsibility to raise standards both for the next generation that are joining it and for the clients that we serve. I genuinely believe that by working together we will create a stronger and well respected profession, which will mean Financial Planning will become a career of choice.

Financial Planning has the Power to change lives:

  • By focusing on Financial Planning and not financial products, we change the focus of our conversations with clients; it becomes about them. If we focus on our clients, we engage in more meaningful conversations, which can empower them to make decisions with confidence.
  • Financial Planning isn’t just good for our clients, its also good for business. Financial Planning leads to tangible outcomes: people being able to achieve their goals. I cant think of a better reason for clients to refer us to others. Over the last three years I have seen consistent increases in the number of client referrals and I can relate this directly to the deeper relationships I have been able to develop with my clients.
  • Maya Angelou said,
    “They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
    I cant think of a better quote to sum up the Power of Financial Planning. No one will remember you selling them an ISA but they will remember you helping them create a fund to pay for their daughter’s wedding.
